At Hand to Heal you will receive a hands-on active style of treatment for MSK issues and bodywork will accompany the acupuncture needles. In this tangible style of treatment, needles are manipulated and you can expect to feel sensations as the body tissue and blood flow responds. It is normal to experience a range of sensations, ranging from a deep ache to muscle fasciculations (twitches). I have found this dynamic style of treatment has faster results and is able to more precisely pinpoint the root cause of muscular pain and disfunction.

You can be assured that I will carefully assess your suitability for tangible acupuncture and adapt my technique according to your needs. If you prefer a lighter more passive style of treatment this is also available, but it may take a greater number of sessions to get results.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) issues

Acupuncture is very effective for releasing tight tissue in the body, often the result of a sports injury but also sometimes a feature of poor posture or sedentary lifestyle.  The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence and The World Health Organisation both endorse acupuncture for chronic pain and conditions including sciatica, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain and lower back pain.
